Class 5-322 - Assignments

This is where you will find homework that has been assigned to your class.  It will be your responsibility to keep up to date with this work because all students will be expected to perform at the concert.  Each guitarist will be assigned one part from each song and the class will play all parts together as a group.

Greensleeves (Melody)

This song is often attributed to King Henry VII, King of England during the 16th century (the time of Kings and Queens, Knights on horseback and castles) and is believed to have been written for his future Queen, Anne Boleyn. 

 

It is presented in both tabliture and standard notation.

For students who have mastered the bass part or the harmony part and would like to challenge themselves with a simple version of the melody, this is for you!  Once this part is learned we can add work on the main melody.

This is an alternative guitar part to the main melody of "Greensleeves".  It is simpler than the melody and the Bass part and represents the minimum requirements for this assignment.  It should be played on the acoustic guitar only. 

 

It is presented in both tabliture and standard notation.

This is the accompanying bass guitar part for "Greensleeves".  It is simpler than the melody but more work than the harmony part.  It may be played on strings 3 and 4 of the electric bass or on strings 5 and 6 of your acoustic guitar.
